This is a delicious saucy tofu skillet that’s so, SO EASY to make for a quick weeknight dinner and also vegetarian friendly. And I just can’t get enough of that amazing sauce. I guarantee you that this dish will please everyone, including that tofu hater you know.
I had been wanting to make a tofu dish for a while. Like an easy tofu stir fry for weeknights. Since then, I’ve slowly perfected this recipe and ESPECIALLY the sauce by experimenting with it. I’ve got the sauce down pretty well now, and I love everything about it: taste, texture, color, everything. This sauce is so good that Mr. Savory Tooth, one of those avowed tofu haters, is now a tofu convert and he regularly requests this dish.
Besides the sauce, here are other things that I love about this dish:
- Simple and easy: You only need to spend about 15 minutes stir frying the tofu, and then stir in the sauce and you’re done!
- Very filling: This dish is low on calories, and very filling. Every time I eat this, I know that I’ll be getting a low-carb and low-calorie meal that will make me feel very full. The dish may not look like much in terms of volume of tofu, but trust me, it’s enough for dinner for two!

Spicy Tofu Skillet with Eggs and Scallions
This is a delicious saucy tofu skillet that’s very easy to make for a quick weeknight dinner and also vegetarian friendly.
- 12 ounces extra firm tofu drained and chopped into 1/2-inch cubes
- 2 eggs
- 7 scallions chopped (about 3/4 cup)
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
Mix up all of the ingredients for the sauce in a medium-sized mixing bowl and set aside.
Heat a large pan over medium heat. Add tofu cubes and cook until lightly yellow, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. You don't need any cooking oil for this.
Crack eggs over the pan, immediately scrambling and stirring it with the tofu. Stir until the eggs are cooked, about 1 minute.
Pour the sauce over the pan. Mix everything together so the tofu is well coated in the delicious sauce, stirring for a few minutes.
Remove the pan from heat. Add and stir in the scallions and mayonnaise. Serve immediately.
