I visited their State Street location on a weekday morning. The interior is spacious compared to most downtown cafes in Boston, with a variety of table seating and bar seating to choose from, plus sofa chairs for lounging. The interior has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Service is friendly and helpful. Ordering is done at the counter, and your name will be called out when your food and drinks are ready to be picked up at the counter. There is a table in the center of the room with bins underneath to return empty plates to.

The Well Coffee House serves Crimson Cup Coffee, which only uses highest-grade coffee beans. They serve iced and hot drinks, and you can easily substitute different milks (almond, oat, and soy) or choose decaf instead of caffeinated. They also serve a variety of pastries, macaroons, bagels, danishes, and other treats.

mocha drink

I ordered the Well Mocha, which is a hot espresso drink with white chocolate and caramel. It was delicious and unique, with the right amount of sweetness. I enjoyed my drink while sitting at a bar overlooking the Old State House, which is a history museum located right next to the 1770 Boston Massacre site.

cinnamon bun

I also ordered their cinnamon swirl, and asked for it to be toasted. I enjoyed it even though it was a bit too greasy, likely from excess butter or oil oozing out after it was heated.

I would enjoy returning to The Well Coffee House, given the delicious drinks, spacious and welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service. I would be interested in trying the mocha again as well as their flavored lattes.
